Kittens and Jam and Yaoi Oh My!

Well, we made it. We made the eighteen month hiatus. We’ve watched. We’ve rewatched. We’ve gifed every single frame of every episode. We’ve taken over the fan fiction websites. We cried at Alone on the Water. We cringed at Flowers in a Box.  We gawked in awe of Performance in a Leading Role. We’ve read the comics. We’ve seen the fan-art. We’ve given a whole new meaning to strawberry jam. We’ve scared the whole of Tumblr. We’ve done all of this, united together in a wonderful (yet sometimes terrifying) way over four and a half hours of film. When you think about that, it’s an awe inspiring thought. It’s united human beings from around the world, spanning a wide range of ages and backgrounds and starting honest to god friendships. We have waited for the new season since we first watched the first. Of course, there are only three, yet again, ending with The Fall. 

We can do this, you guys.

So I raise a toast to you all and if you should happen to remember it’s the anniversary of  the new year. Remember that you were loved by many and that you made my life a happy one. And there’s no tragedy in that

I’m getting worried now that instead of a ‘strong female character’ (Irene Adler) we’re just going to get this sexed up vampire of a woman. Super sexy is fine too, but come on. Bit of a stark contrast to John and Sherlock. Someone reason with me?!

THIS. Why can’t she just be a badass character. Why make her so overly sexual. I like Sherlock just because there’s not ridiculous amounts of sex and nudity like so many other shows and movies. It’s like you just can’t get away from it! Sex is used so often in everything; movies, tv, magazines. It’s just everywhere and it’s frustrating to have it shoved in your face all the time :(

Yes I totally agree! I mean she can’t just express her sexuality so openly it totally gives off the wrong impression. She DOES NOT come across as a strong female character she’s just another slut manipulated by men! There are serious bad connotations with being a dominatrix i mean they’re basically just shoving another cookie cutter whore in our faces. In the books she was an Opera Singer- why do they have to change it? I consider myself a feminist and this is so not okay what they are doing to her.
